Training Policy

Policy Purpose

KAUH Offers for Healthcare Professionals the opportunity to upgrade skills and increase knowledge in order to produce a more capable and professional workforce. All trainees are encouraged to take advantage of appropriate training and development opportunities within all specialty, this policy has been developed to provide continuous training request manual for health care professionals.

Training Scope

The Academic Affairs Department supervises the training of male and female students to complete the graduation and excellence requirements of all disciplines from health colleges and scientific bodies affiliated to King Abdul-Aziz University, in addition to external bodies from government universities and private university education, as well as supervising all approved graduate studies programs From the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, and to ensure the application of standards for medical education and continuous professional development for health colleges, scientific societies, research centers at the university and university hospital departments to approve educational hours for holding seminars, conferences and scientific seminars to discuss health issues in various fields and disciplines.

The Policy

  • The applicant for training must adhere to the requirements, as the categories of training in academic affairs differ according to the course of training, and each category has special requirements as follow:
    • Requesting Training for postgraduate and Registration of health practitioners in the programs of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. (SCFHS)
    • Training to pass an academic or internship requirement for - Applied Medical Sciences
    • Summer training for students of the College of Medicine
    • Training under the house of expiritise
    • Applying for research and postgraduate studies (scientific - administrative - other)
  • The applicant must submit the required documents and pledge that the data provided are correct
  • All documents must be valid throughout the training period
  • Undertaking to review all hospital conditions and regulations, and to adhere to and adhere to the uniform
  • The trainee must consider the timing and amount of training that she/he has need to attend before request for training
  • The trainee must adhere to the application period and the dates announced in the official channels of the hospital when applying for the training request
  • All training requests must first be review by the Committee then to be approved by DAA
  • The trainee must attend the induction course at KAUH
  • The trainee must sign the declarations and undertakings of confidentiality required in accordance with the regulations and the policy of the hospital
  • Regarding the Summer training for all students under Faculty of Medicine at KAU or another university, will not be considered any applications sent before or after the application period officially announced by Academic Affairs on the KAU website
    • No paper application will be accepted permanently and submission via the website only
    • Applicants will be accepted based on the capacity of the Department available for summer training which is mentioned in the application form
    • While submitting your application, please take into consideration the official working hours and days of the University Hospital
    • Each trainee is entitled (4 weeks) training in the department / one specialty only.
    • Training and certification will not be documented without observing the previous conditions
    • To achieve the desired benefit and obtain a training termination document, the entire training period must be completed
    • Once the training or research is finished the trainees must surrender the Hospital ID card to AAD, and they must cancel the authorization of Phoenix (Electronic Health System) by IT department
    • The trainees must submit to AAD the Evaluation form sign with stamp since the training period finished
